Lisa Barwell began playing piano at the age of 8 and flute at the age of 11. She participated in the school band in middle school and high school as well as various city-wide honor bands.She has participated in several competitions and festivals, including Solo and Ensemble Festival in flute and the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Festival in piano.
Miss Barwell studied flute with Pegge Ealum, Betty Polk, and Melissa Voshell and piano with Sheree Crook, Mary Elizabeth Land, Beth Martelli, and DeLise Hall.
She graduated in 2001 from Providence School and in 2005 from Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville, TN) with a Bachelor of Science in Music. She has been teaching since 2004.
She is a member of the National Flute Association and the National Federation of Music Clubs which enables her students to participate in festivals and competitions throughout the year.
